Business : Clipper Corner Celebrates 37 Years of Business in Vinton

Barkdoll prepares to style the hair of Mildred Noble

Clipper Corner celebrated the shop's 37th Anniversary this month. Mary Barkdoll and Jessica Davis celebrated the shop's accomplishment with an open house. Homemade gifts came in for the ladies from some of their customers as well as congratulatory words for the ladies.

The business held an open house, offering refreshments to customers who stopped by and of course, the business of cutting, coloring, and styling continued.

The shop began in 1985 when Barkdoll along with former partner Brenda Kovatch opened the shop. At the time that she went into business, Barkdoll had been working for hair salons in Cedar Rapids and Iowa City for two years before opening Clipper Corner. Clipper Corner used to be located on 5th Street, but Barkdoll moved the business to its present location at the corner of Fourth Street and B Avenue in 1991. 

The Clipper Corner continues to serve long-time customers as well as new customers. The business provides for all of your hair care needs.
