Fareway employees were spending Thursday morning filling the new upright freezers along the east wall of the store, as the expansion of the store continues.
"We have added 1,200 square feet," said manager Dave Kelchen.
In addition to the extra space for dry goods, the biggest change customers will notice is the expanded product line of frozen goods that the new freezers offers.
"We only had space for 6 varieties of Smart Ones," said Kelchen. "Now we will have 25 varieties."
Kelchen thanked Fareway customers for their patience, as they encountered construction as well as relocation of their favorite foods from their usual shelves.
The construction will take a break until after the July 4 holiday, said Kelchen. The store is too busy during the days before July 4, he said. After the holiday, the old freezers will be removed.
