The city of Center Point’s Movies in the Park series will also feature food trucks and an old-fashioned band concert Saturday, July 14.
The Vinton Community Band will be playing a free concert at 7 p.m. near the Fross Park splash pad. The Center Point Historical Society and the band have been teaming up for years for a concert outside the Depot Museum, but this year are teaming up with the city Parks/Rec department too.
The Vinton band has been playing around for 35 years now. Director Judy Trygstad has been director for 33 of those years and directed the Vinton-Shellsburg Middle School band for 31 years.
Food trucks will be at Fross by 4:30 and the free movie, “Jumanji,â€ will start at dusk, sponsored by Keystone Savings Bank.
The Historical Society—it’s 43 years old now—will have an information/sales table at the event.
