The Vinton-Shellsburg High School vocal music department presented the Fall Choral Preview Tuesday night in the V-S High School auditorium.

The night began with a stirring rendition of the “Star-Spangled Bannerâ€ by the Combined Choirs. This was followed by the two songs from the Treble Choir; “Hi Yo Ipsi Naya (A Navajo Song of Happiness) and “Lift Your Hearts!â€

All-State Choir Try-Out entrants Davia Herger, Brynn Johnson, Katelyn, Humiston, Maddie Beauchamp, Sophia Dilley and Andrew Wirth gave a sneak preview of Saturday’s big day with excerpts from their audition pieces.

The Chamber Choir performed “Lullabyâ€ and “Open The Window, Noahâ€ that included solos from Rylee Scheel, Xander Dawson-Fink, Jesse Hepker, Eli Powers, Brynn Johnson, Andrew Wirth, Katelyn Humiston and Sophia Dilley.

The Concert Choir had three numbers, including “Jubilateâ€ (Let Us Praise You), “Gamayaâ€ and “Dreams Of Theeâ€ which featured a flute accompaniment from V-S Middle School band director Makayla Prall.

The night concluded with the Combined Choirs moving into the auditorium aisles to lead the audience in a performance of “Love Is Love is Love Is Love.â€

The next performance for the choir will be Choral Extravaganza on December 19.
