Keep Iowa Beautiful is preparing to award three $1,000 scholarships to Iowa high school seniors.These annual scholarships honor important figures in Keep Iowa Beautiful history who have made significant contributions to Iowa communities. * The Byers Scholarship - Awarded to students who plan to enroll in an Iowa college or university to study environmental science, community development, landscape architecture or architecture (historical emphasis) or community planning and sustainability.

Dysart Class of 1956 to meet

The Dysart class of 1956 is set to meet on Thursday, October 12th at 11:00 AM at the Vinton Family Restaurant in Vinton, Iowa. They graduated less than 20 in 1956. The Dysart High School has been torn down.  Stories, some embellished, will be fun to share among the sixteen graduates and spouses that plan to attend.

My Bookshelf At Guided Journaling last week, one of our writing prompts involved writing about the last book you read, the one you're currently reading, and the book you'll read next.  This felt like the perfect prompt for my blog!The last book I read was "Tom Lake" by Ann Patchett.  I was introduced to this author through my book club years ago and have loved her ever since.
