Cedar 1 teamed up with Hamilton County Parks and Recreation for their last project. The team served in Cool Creek Park in Carmel, Indiana to lend a hand with the Haunted Trails Halloween event. The team performed trail maintenance and construction to improve the park system.

The team thoroughly enjoyed working on the haunted trails. Some members of Cedar 1 joined the other non-profits in the task of bringing the scares to visitors of the event. Before the scaring began, the team helped set up for each fright station along the park’s main trail by running extension cords for electricity, setting up lights and even delivering firewood to designated areas.. Once complete, cleaning and some construction with the park’s trails followed this work.

The NCCC team Cedar 1 not only enjoyed the service at Cool Creek Park, but the staff were exceptional as well and took good care of the team for the extent of their visit. Hamilton County Parks and Recreation was founded in 1967. They obtained their first park in 1970 and currently manage eleven parks and the White River Campgrounds. The department provides quality recreational and educational programming, facilities and events designed to add to the quality of life for all residents of Hamilton County, regardless of income.
