The traditional Thursday evening Party in the Park events took place under cloudy skies, but just few sprinkles fell as the weather allowed the events to go on as planned, After hot dogs and chips at Farmers Savings Bank, the children rode bikes, scooters, toy cars and other vehicles from the parking lot to the courthouse, where a variety of games and activites and a magic show were waiting for them. Friday's events continued at Riverside Park, with music, activities and the annual Party in Pink 5K. Saturday schedule:

The parade will start at the Fairgrounds and continue north down 2nd Ave, turn west on 6th, continue three blocks and turn north on B Ave, continue to 4th St and will turn going east. Parade is held rain or shine. 7:00 PM - Community Band: local musicians treat us to some big band sounds! 7:25 PM - National Anthem, Announcements & Presentations 7:45 PM - Live Music! "Twice on Sunday", one of Kansas City's premier cover bands loves a party! Their super high-energy performance will be bringing Vinton its clever blend of music from today mashed with iconic tunes from decades past! Dark - Spectacular Fireworks! by Bar Y Pryos, these fireworks are legendary and the largest in this area! The show will start around 9:45 PM.
