The Benton County Historical Society is hosting the First Annual Benton County Historical Society Expo on Saturday, August 10th at the Vinton-Shellsburg High School from 10:00am - 4:00pm! There will be 46 vendors, special guests and speakers throughout the day, including four special guests! Admission is $5 and you have access to all vendors, special guests and speakers! Opal & Hazel's Wood Fired Pizza will be serving lunch, for an additional cost, from 11:00am to 1:00pm in the parking lot.

The Benton County Historical Society is dedicated to preserving local history and being a resource for genealogical research for Benton County is the primary goal of the Benton County Historical Society. Operating as an all-volunteer organization since 1971, involvement of members as well as non-members is key to obtaining this goal.

This expo is meant to welcome ALL types of people, vendors, interests', hobbies, etc., not just paranormal! We want to welcome everyone and appeal to everyone. It is a great way to bring together a variety of different interests and maybe you'll leave with a new interest!

Of course, we do still have to keep some things historical and spooky, so we will have some special guests from the paranormal field. Jeff Belanger (Ghost Adventures, Best-Selling Author, Adventurer, & Explorer), Dave Schrader (The Holzer Files, Ghosts of Devils Perch, Ghost Adventures, Paranormal Challenge, Haunted Hospitals, Fright Club and ShockDocs), Josh Heard (Author, Lecturer, Filmmaker, Destination Fear, G-Crew, Paranormal Lockdown) & Medium Vanessa Hogle (Artist & Author) will be joining us!

Additional offerings, at a cost, from the Benton County Historical Society are private overnight paranormal investigations of the Horridge House.

All proceeds benefit the Benton County Historical Society and preserving history for the future.
