11-16-2021 a meeting of the Shellsburg City Council was called to order by Mayor Speckner at 6:00pm in the Council Chambers.Roll call was answered by Blattler, Vogt, Chapman, Reeves, and Thorkildson. Chapman motioned to approve the consent agenda. Vogt second. All ayes. Blattler motioned to approve the Bank Reconciliation. Vogt second. All ayes. Vogt motioned to approve the Treasurer's report. Blattler second. All ayes. September revenues were reviewed and are as follows: General $8,708.17 Library $349.07RUT $15,989.57 Employee Benefits $871.99Emergency Fund $222.77LOST $8,058.99 TIF $40,883.69Debt Service $9,571.44Water $22,259.80 Sewer $30,104.81 Garbage $16,178.25Public Forum: Resident asked about bulky items still being picked up? Johnson County clarified that residents having bulky items need to call them directly at 319-665-4498 and pay via credit card. Bulky items will be picked up on Tuesdays. We are still working on trying to get some funding from FEMA less the City and State share. The City is waiting to get the railroad property in Memorial Park surveyed. An update on property clean up was given. The Council chose to move forward with trying to repeal the Perpetual Care Ordinance. The 2022 meeting dates were set. Vogt motioned to adjourn.
