The Benton County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with Supervisors Seeman, Tippett and Volz present. Chairman Seeman called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. at the Benton County Service Center.

Tippett moved/Volz seconded: To approve agenda. All members voting aye. Motion carried. Volz moved/Tippett seconded: To approve the minutes of February 11, 2025 with some corrections and also minutes of February 12, 2025. Tippett, Seeman and Volz voting aye. Motion carried.
Tippett moved/Volz seconded: To approve out of state training for Mona Onken to attend the National Council for Mental Health Conference in Philadelphia on May 4-7, 2025. This will be reimbursed expenses from the Region. Tippett, Seeman and Volz voting aye. Motion carried.
Tippett moved/Volz seconded: To approve the City of Shellsburg law enforcement contract for a yearly sum of $33,800 to be paid quarterly, not to exceed 20 hours a week. Seeman, Tippett and Volz voting aye. Motion carried.
Volz moved/Tippett seconded: To approve out of state training for Mark Erickson, Transportation Director to attend the Iowa Public Transportation Conference in Washington, DC March 20-22, 2025. This will be reimbursed from grant money. Tippett, Seeman and Volz voting aye. Motion carried.
Tippett moved/Volz seconded: To authorize chairman to sign the certificates of appointments for deputies that were sworn in January 3rd in the Sheriff and Auditor's office. All members voting aye. Motion carried.
Tippett moved/Volz seconded: To set the public hearing date for the FY 26 Maximum Levy Asking on Wednesday, March 26th at 9:00 a.m. Tippett, Seeman and Volz voting aye. Motion carried.
Derek Marsh, Assistant County Attorney shared the letter he drafted after last week's discussion in regards to Central Iowa Juvenile Detention Center. This letter addresses some concerns involving invoices from the facility. The Board agreed this letter sounded good and to go ahead and send it.
There was no committee reports. Tippett moved/Volz seconded: To adjourn at 9:32 a.m. Tippett, Seeman and Volz voting aye. Motion carried.
