The Benton County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with Supervisors Seeman, Tippett and Volz present. Chairman Seeman called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m. at the Benton County Service Center.
Tippett moved/Volz seconded: To approve the agenda. All voting aye. Motion carried.
Tippett moved/Volz seconded: To enter into 28E contract with the City of Mt. Auburn for providing law enforcement services for a total annual amount of $1,690 to be paid quarterly and not to exceed 26 hours total. Tippett, Seeman and Volz voting aye. Motion carried.
Discussion regarding the Ordinance #80 and the hearing dates. The Board along with the County Attorney agreed to take this slow, continue to gather feedback but that the board may not be prepared to adopt it after the 3rd reading. No action taken.
Tippett moved/Volz seconded: To enter Closed Session per Iowa Code 21.5(1)c: To discuss strategy with counsel in matters that are presently in litigation or where litigation is imminent where its disclosure would be likely to prejudice or disadvantage the position of the governmental body in that litigation. Tippett, Seeman and Volz voting aye. Motion carried at 1:02 p.m.
Volz moved/Seeman seconded: To exit closed session at 1:20 p.m. Tippett, Seeman and Volz voting aye. Motion carried.
Tippett moved/Volz seconded: To take no action after what was discussed. Tippett, Seeman and Volz voting aye. Motion carried.
Volz moved/Tippett seconded: To adjourn meeting at 1:31 p.m. Tippett, Seeman and Volz voting aye. Motion carried.
