The Benton County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with Supervisors Seeman, Tippett and Volz present. Chairman Seeman called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. at the Benton County Service Center. Members of the public are invited to join in during open session or watch the livestream at https://www.youtube.com/bentoncountyiowa. Full Resolutions will be available in the Auditor’s office and at: www.bentoncountyia.gov

Volz moved/Tippett seconded: To approve the agenda. Tippett, Seeman and Volz voting aye. Motion carried.

Tippett moved/Volz seconded: To approve minutes from September 30, 2025. All members voting aye. Motion carried.

Tippett moved/Volz seconded: To approve payroll checks numbered 143873 through 143884, ACH Deposits 62695 through 62854, handwrite 255164, EMS claims 255165 through 255171, claims 255172 through 255315 and payroll vendor checks 255316 through 255322. Tippett, Seeman and Volz voting aye. Motion carried.

Tippett moved/Volz seconded: To approve Auditor’s Quarterly Report ending September 30. 2025. Tippett, Seeman and Volz voting aye. Motion carried.

Volz moved/Tippett seconded: To set land use hearing date of Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at 9:15 a.m. for Cole Baumgartner in part of the NE ¼ SE ¼ of Section 7-86-9. Tippett, Seeman and Volz voting aye. Motion carried.

Volz moved/Tippett seconded: To approve Class C Retail Liquor License for Walnut Ridge Venue effective December 5, 2025 through December 6, 2026. Tippett, Seeman and Volz voting aye. Motion carried.

Tippett moved/Volz seconded: To approve the Sheriff’s Quarterly Report ending September 30, 2025. Tippett, Seeman and Volz voting aye. Motion carried.

Auditor Rippel shared the final equalization notice with the Board, and with it being Zero across the board, no notices will need to be mailed out. The files have been rolled in the real estate side of things to start the 2025 valuation reporting process.

SupervisorTippett reported on his recent Central Iowa Juvenile Detention Board meeting. They are starting the process to look for a new CEO.

Supervisor Seeman reported that he has received a lot of phone calls from employees concerned about the safety committee’s policy discussed last week. Seeman felt strongly that the safety committee needs to re-address concerns with edits before it comes back to the Board for approval.

Seeman moved/Tippett seconded: To adjourn meeting at 9:33 a.m. Volz, Seeman and Tippett voting aye. Motion carried.
