Healthy, substance-free workplaces save thousands of dollars every year and provide better service to customers. Addressing substance use in the workplace can take a variety of forms, ranging from educational programs to policy development.

ASAC staff can help businesses to create a safe and healthy workplace  by helping organizations to develop or revise company drug or tobacco/nicotine policies.

ASAC can conduct educational sessions for employees and managers. Topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Drug-free workplace training for supervisors and employees
    • Drug Trends Training, including signs and symptoms of misuse in employees
    • Reasonable Suspicion Training
  • Training for Intervention Procedures (TIPS) ¢
    • Education for the responsible service, sale and consumption of alcohol designed to prevent unsafe drinking
  • Training topics include: workplace wellness, smoking cessation, problem gambling, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) or a specific substance

On-site workplace trainings are free to non-profit agencies in Linn, Benton, Jones, Jackson, Clinton, Dubuque and Delaware counties. ASAC recommends a donation to ASAC Prevention from for-profit businesses in ASAC ¢â‚¬â„¢s 7-county service area. Policy support is offered free of charge to all businesses within the ASAC service area.
