Kaitlynn Miller, has stepped into the position of the Christian Education Director at Wesley United Methodist Church. Part of her job has been to figure out a way to be entertaining while teaching teenagers. Another, not so fun part is of the job description is to find ways to raise money to support the youth and their endless energy. On Sunday the youth and the church as a whole celebrated their first fundraising effort which resulted in over $5,000 for the youth. The group rented a dunk tank from Parks and Rec and the adults and teens took turns attempting to and succeeding in dunking Miller. "For the past month, we had an envelope fundraiser where the congregation and teens would take envelopes numbered from $1 to $100," said Miller and each enveloped was returned to the youth group. The initial effort was to try to send 10 kids to camp this summer, but with the amount raised, it will be able to be used for other events that Miller will put together in the future.
