GoVS (Generating Opportunities for Viking Scholars) is once again selling refillable mugs. The $20 purchase price of the mug will give mug holders unlimited free refills of coffee or fountain pop at John's Qwik Stop from August 19 to December 25, 2021.

With the support of John's Qwik Stop, the mugs will be available for purchase on Thursday, August 19. There are limited quantities of mugs available, it's a first-come first-serve basis until they are sold out. (Be sure to stop out for your first refill of pop or coffee at John's Qwik Stop soon!)

All proceeds from mug sales will be used to award scholarships to the 2022 graduating seniors in the Vinton-Shellsburg school district.

GoVS is a locally operated and supported, non-profit, tax exempt scholarship foundation operated by an all-volunteer board of directors. Their purpose is to expand access to higher education by involving and assisting the community to support local students.

This past year the group awarded eight $1,000 scholarships at the Vinton-Shellsburg Senior Awards night.

In addition to the mug sales, the group will hold the Homecoming Breakfast on October 2nd, as well as selling the holiday greenery and roping wreaths in October.

GoVS is operated by an all-volunteer Board of Directors. If you are interested in volunteering, more volunteers are always welcome to assist with the various fundraising efforts and activities.
