The Red Cedar Shooters Vinton-Shellsburg Trap Team is for students in grades 6-12 attending the Vinton-Shellsburg School district. The trapshooting team furthers the school and communities commitment to involve students in positive activities outside of the school day. The team promotes a safe and organized learning experience in the sport of trapshooting.

The Vinton-Shellsburg trapshooting sport became a sanctioned lettering sport for high school athletes beginning in the 2010-2011 school year. The Red Cedar Shooters competed with other schools across the state and nation. This year there are more than 50 athletes participating in the sport of trapshooting.

The Post was able to raise $800 to help the program which will cover the expenses of about one student and half of a second student.
