On Friday, February 4th, the Vinton-Shellsburg FFA Chapter held their annual Spaghetti Dinner. The dinner had been planned to be during the Vinton-Shellsburg vs. Benton Boys Basketball game bringing in a lot of attention. The chapter started preparing on Thursday by making the brownies and cooking the hamburger. On Friday members put out signs around town to try to get even more people to show up, unfortunately the weather didn’t fully cooperate. After putting out signs around town, members arrived back to the school to begin preparation for the dinner. Members cooked noodles, made garlic bread and prepared salad. They also sold crazy socks with agriculture sayings on them. The chapter had a great outcome and all really enjoyed working with friends. The dinner wrapped up at 8 P.M. and clean up began. The chapter would like to extend a big thank you to Chad Newton for helping us with the signs, as well as Amanda Hernadez, Mark Pingenot, and Nichole McKenna for helping prepare the dinner. Overall the chapter really enjoyed hosting the dinner and look forward to doing it again next year!
