Stephonie Williams met with readers Saturday morning at Clingman Pharmacy, where she signed books as she promoted her first effort as an author.

Williams, of VInton, co-wrote "Mark of Royalty" with her sister, Jennifer Clark of Utah. The book tells the story of Sarah, who as the first born, received the Mark of Royalty from her family. But, says Stephonie, the surprise birth of a twin brother changed everything in Sarah's life. She was sent away to a guardian who was told to never tell Sarah she was destined to be a princess.

Williams said she enjoyed working with her sister. The two would write a chapter separately, then send each other copies of what they had written. Each would mark what they liked about the other's chapter. Then after a couple of weeks to think it over, they would meet to combine their works into one.

While she was at Clingman's, Stephonie played a video she made to promote the book.

"Our publisher asks the authors to find creative ways to promote our works, so we hired some actors," she said. The video includes a black horse similar to one royalty may have used centuries ago.

Stephonie and Jennifer have ideas for a sequel, if the publisher decides to print it.

"It depends on how well our first one does," she said.
