A junior at the Vinton-Shellsburg high school has recently been receiving treatment for Hodgkin's lymphoma cancer. Despite having stage-four cancer, this high school student, Brittany Steinberg, continues to excel in her classes and be the bright, passionate, and positive student she is. "It's just a case of bad luck," Brittany says about her cancer. Brittany led the school to the state speech competition last year and is striving to make it even further this year with large group speech. Anyone who knows Brittany agrees that she can always bring a smile to your face, which is why the theme for this fundraiser is titled Be Bold, Be Brave, Be Brittany.

A fundraising committee composed of staff members Jenny Janssen, Lindsey Otto, and Heather Kalous as well as her closest friends Victoria Humiston, Qin Stephenson, LeeAnne Lubbock, Sara Johnson, Rachel Rollinger, Athena McCauslin, and Sam Lundvall have created ways to support Brittany and her family through this long, expensive year. Thanks to the Cotton Gallery, a T-shirt fundraiser has been constructed to raise money for her and her family. There are paper order forms as well as an online web store you can access through this link: https://brittanysteinburgsfundraiser.itemorder.com/shop/sale/. On top of this, you will find coin jars throughout businesses in Vinton to raise funds! Another way to support Brittany is through her family's GoFundMe page that you can access here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-the-steinberg-family?member=23128131&sharetype=teams&utm_campaign=p_na+share-sheet&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=customer. You can also contribute through the Farmers Savings Bank & Trust where you can donate to the Brittany Steinburg fund. All donations will go to support her and her family through these difficult times. Remember, Be Bold, Be Brave, Be Brittany!
