Just a look at the highways during snowmageddon on Tuesday

With a simple offer to help the elderly or anyone else that can't remove snow, Dakoda Sellers made an offer to help out those in town. There were 263 responses to his post. Some simply to say thank you and others were requests from as far away as Marion, Atkins and Urbana, some not understanding that he has limited capability. 2,300 people liked or loved his post.

Others chimed in to help in the Atkins area and recommendations for help that might be in the Urbana area.

In total Dakoda cleared more than 80 driveways running until dark to get the job done.

This is just another reason that I love Vinton. Whether it's a flood, tornado or snow, the neighbors are out helping each other.

Thank you Dakoda and to all of the others out there lending a plow or shovel to keep everyone functional following the foot of snow that fell in Vinton!

Also pictured is a photo captured of the highway on Tuesday. Several cars and semis went into the ditches over the two day storm due to the amount of snow and whiteout conditions.
