Mayor Bud Maynard administered the Oath of Office to four men desiring to serve as reserve officers for the Vinton Police Department. The four included Joshua Meyer, Matt Milburn, Brandan Geiger and Blake Hansen.

Police Chief Ted Paxton spoke before the ceremony and thanked the men for stepping up to serve in the department. The four will be riding along with other officers for training purposes. After they have completed 120 hours, and had a final evaluation they will be allowed to patrol on their own Ben Parmater explained.

Paxton thanked Officer Casey Hazen for organizing and training the reserve officers beginning last January. "I just can't be more proud of these four individuals who have pledged to serve the City of Vinton. They will be a great asset to us during many of the functions throughout the year," Paxton said.
