“We invite everyone to join us in recognizing our veterans as they return home,” said Lynette Voss, president of the Eastern Iowa Honor Flight. “The Welcome Home celebration is a special opportunity to express our sincere appreciation for their service and dedication. A strong community turnout makes this moment even more meaningful.”
Veterans will begin arriving at the Eastern Iowa Airport at 5:30 a.m. on flight day, with an expected departure at 6:45 a.m. The public is invited to attend the Welcome Home celebration at the airport starting at 7:30 p.m. The event will include a military band, a flag line, participation from local police and fire departments, and a heartfelt homecoming. The flight is expected to return to Cedar Rapids at approximately 9 p.m. Complimentary parking will be available in both short-term and long-term lots with a parking pass, available at the information booth inside the terminal.
