Obituaries Barbara Raum Becker Guillory

VINTON:  Barbara Raum Becker Guillory, 50, lost her courageous battle with cancer on Monday, September 20, 2010 at her rural Vinton home.

     A Public Celebration of Life will be held from 4 to 9 PM on Friday, September 24, 2010 at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. 6th St. in Vinton.  Private Committal Services will be held.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

     Barbara Raum was born June 7, 1960 at Grundy Center to LeRoy Henry and Florence (Sonkens) Raum and graduated from the Gladbrook High School. 

     She was the well known owner of Barb Becker Papering and Painting, Inc..  Barb was an avid horseback rider who loved her horses.  She also enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a fabulous cook.

     On November 29, 2008 she married Glenn Guillory at Grant, LA.  She is survived by her loving husband, Glenn; her step-children, Chad (Alana) Guillory and Jeremy (Dorothy) Guillory, and six step-grandcildren, all of Grant, LA; her siblings, Jerry (Nancy) Sonkens of Salt Lake City, UT, Dennis (Cheryl) Raum of Gladbrook, Richard Raum of Salt Lake City, UT, Beverly Raum Green of Hudson, and Robert Raum of Blair, NE; her uncle Linn Sonkens of Mt. Home, Arkansas; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.

     She was preceded in death by her parents.
