Kevin K. Wright, 71, of Rocky Mount, N.C., passed away Monday, Nov. 22, 2021, in his home surrounded by his loving family. No services will be held in accordance with Kevin's wishes.

Kevin was born May 28, 1950, in Cedar Rapids to Russell and DeLores Wright and grew up on the family farm outside of Van Horne. He graduated from Benton Community High School in 1968. On May 13, 1968, he married Sandy Hartgrave of Vinton, and this year they celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary.

Kevin was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. He was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan, and a highlight was attending with his dad, a World Series game in 1967 at Busch Memorial Stadium in St. Louis. He loved his Shih Tzus, most recently Yadi and Dingo, however Spike was truly a man's best friend and held a special place in his heart. Kevin's adult life was spent living in Vinton, Minong, Wis., Cedar Rapids, and in recent years, Rocky Mount, N.C.

Surviving Kevin is his soulmate and wife, Sandy; his sons, Kirk (Sharon) Wright and Chad (Lisa) Wright; and daughter, Jennifer (Andy Lee) Sethi. Additionally, his seven grandchildren, Chantz (Ashley Eden) Wright, Chace (Marisa) Wright, Amanda Wright, Amelia Wright, Amiya Sethi, Karina Sethi and Brooklyn Lee; and great-granddaughter, Mirajane Wright; his sister, D'dree (Jim) Frizzell; and brother, Drew Wright, as well as brothers-in-law, Roger (Valerie) Craddock, Chuck (Jennifer) Craddock and Jerry Staab; and sisters-in-law, Irene Wright and Karon (Jerry) Ahrenstein. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Kevin in death were his parents; his brother, Terry; sister-in-law, Charlene Staab; brother-in-law, Ronnie Craddock; and his mother and father-in-law, Mary and Ed Craddock.

Although we are terribly saddened by the loss of Kevin's physical presence, we celebrate the joy he gave to our lives when he was with us, and we will honor him for as long as we live.
