Jerry Wayne Keel, age 65, died Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at his home in Shellsburg, following a short illness.

Per Jerry's wishes, he will be cremated and will have a private family burial.

Jerry was born on June 24, 1956 at Vinton to Wilbert and Audrey (Husted) Keel. He graduated from Shellsburg High School with the class of 1974. Jerry worked as an electrical technician at Rockwell Collins prior to completing his degree and starting his own business, Keel Electric, in which he repaired TV's, stereos and small appliances.

Jerry spent countless hours with his love of fishing and boating. Some of his greatest adventures were trips with his good friend Bill Hanna. They went on trips to Michigan, Wisconsin, and even Chicago for the horse races. They also did a lot of local camping.

Jerry is survived by his sister Kelly (Kit) Kosina of Shueyville; and his brother John (Many) Keel of Hiawatha; and 4 nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert Keel in 1979; and Audrey Keel in 2007.
