Donna Jean Niebuhr, age 75, passed away on Thursday June 2, 2022, at The Gardens in Cedar Rapids.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at Grace Lutheran Church, Blairstown, with Rev. Jeffrey Schanbacher officiating. Interment will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Blairstown. Visitation will be held from 9:00 until 11:00 AM on Tuesday, also at the Church in Blairstown.

Donna was born on February 2, 1947 in Coggon, the daughter of James and Nelle (Cogdill) Niebuhr. She graduated from Coggon High School with the class of 1964. She was united in marriage to John Niebuhr on August 30, 1969 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. Donna received her associates degree in nursing technician from Iowa State University.

Donna worked as a bus driver for special needs students for 25 plus years in the Benton Community School District. She truly loved her career. She was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church, where she was involved in many aspects of the church, especially the Children's Ministry. Donna also enjoyed cooking, baking, scrapbooking, and collecting dolls. She cherished her grandchildren more than anything in the world.

She is survived by her children; Kristine (Michael) Rummel of Cedar Rapids, Joseph (Janet) Niebuhr of Blairstown, Janelle Niebuhr of Kansas City, MO; 5 grandchildren, Gabriel, Paige, and Noah Rummel, and Margaret and Edwin Niebuhr; sister-in-law, Sheryl (Jo Ford) Niebuhr; brothers-in-law: Steven (Vicki) Niebuhr, Mark (Diane) Niebuhr, and Paul (Lisa) Niebuhr; nieces and nephews; Johanna, Ariel, Elias Elisabeth, and Moriah; a lifelong friend Shawn Pink, and numerous cousins, extended family, and friends.

Donna was proceeded in death by her husband John; her parents; her parents-in-law, Edwin and Vera Niebuhr; and her nephew, Evan.
