Ida Marie Kosnar, 106, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at the Sunrise Hill Care & Rehab Center in Traer. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, April 20, 2023 at St. Paul Catholic Church, Traer with Father Anthony Nketiah as Celebrant. Visitation will be held at the church from 2:00 p.m. until time of service. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Traer.

Ida is survived by two daughters: Barbara Merchant and Marilyn Nagel, both of Traer; five grandchildren: Craig, Kellie, Jolie, Raquel and Angela; twelve great-grandchildren; twelve great-great-grandchildren; and son-in-law, Dale Suhr.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathleen Suhr; grandson, Jeffrey Nagel; and sons-in-law, Tom Merchant and Jon Nagel.

Ida was born September 13, 1916 in rural Traer, the daughter of Vince and Julia (Salasek) Axler. She attended Stormy Point country school. On May 27, 1941, Ida was united in marriage to Albert Kvidera in Clutier and together they enjoyed flying. He preceded her in death on March 24, 1948. On June 30, 1953, she married Joseph Kosnar in Traer. Together they enjoyed the farm and traveling. He preceded her in death on July 5, 1996.

Early in life, Ida enjoyed flower gardening, crocheting, knitting and intricate needlework. When the care center became her home, her joy came from listening to accordion music and playing Bingo. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and the Traer Garden Club.

A memorial fund has been established.

I have many fond memories of times spent with all of you through the years so now have precious memories to cherish. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.
