Jackie Grimm Behounek Seitz, 65, of Vinton, died Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton following a courageous battle with cancer. Private family services will be held. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Jackie was born February 14, 1958 in Vinton, the daughter of Morris "Dean" and Betty (Struve) Grimm. She attended school in Vinton and was a 1976 graduate of Washington High School. On November 4, 1989, Jackie was united in marriage to Anthony "Tony" Behounek at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Vinton. Tony preceded her in death March 22, 2009. On March 31, 2018, Jackie then wed Loren Seitz in Vinton. Jackie was a scale operator at Wendling Quarries, Garrison, for 40 years.
Jackie enjoyed cooking, golfing, bowling, attending UNI football games, watching DIY home decorating and food network channels on TV, serving on the board at the Tara Hills Country Club and spending time with her family. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Vinton.
Jackie is survived by her husband, Loren; son, Garrett (Tonia) Smith; two daughters: Angie (Taylor) Kapphahn and Jess (Jason) Jasnos; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and brother, Rod Grimm.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Tony.
A memorial fund has been established.
