Mark Seaton, 92, of Vinton, passed away peacefully, with Iowa by his side, on Monday, May 8, 2023 at Virginia Gay Hospital. Per Mark's wishes, there will be no services.

Mark was born September 6, 1930 in Marengo, the son of Joseph and Ardis (Simmons) Hadley. He graduated from high school in the Cedar Rapids school district. Mark was united in marriage to Marie Dalecky at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They later divorced. He later met his lifelong companion, Iowa Van Hamme. Mark was employed by the State Department as an overseas technical advisor for more than 20 years. He then became a self-employed financial planner until his retirement.

In his leisure time, Mark enjoyed time spent at his cabin in the Smokey Mountains, cheering on the Hawkeyes, playing golf and when he could no longer play himself, he loved watching those that could from his sun porch on the Vinton Country Club course. Mark also cherished any time he could be with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mark is survived by his lifelong companion, Iowa; sons: James Joseph Seaton, William Gregory (Patti Hartmann) Seaton and Steven Grant (Lisa) Seaton; daughter, Sylvia (Craig) Dunlap; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and son-in-law, Lynn Thompson.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Kay Thompson; and brother, William Seaton.
