Tammy Springfield, 58, passed away at her residence Sunday, December 3, 2023, following a brief illness. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home, Vinton, with Chaplain Brian Reeves officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.

On December 10, 1964, Tammy was born in Sonora, CA, the daughter of Gordon and Hannah (Jenning) Gilbert Sr. She was a graduate of Sonora High School and then attended Kirkwood Community College, Cedar Rapids. Tammy was united in marriage to Mike Engledow on August 4, 1996. The couple later divorced. On October 26, 2012, she was united in marriage to William Springfield in Vinton. Throughout her life, Tammy was employed as a truck driver, nurse aide, worked in purchasing at Mercy Hospital, and was a cook for the Vinton-Shellsburg school district.

In her leisure time, if Tammy wasn't sewing, she loved playing with her puppy or playing on her phone.

Left to cherish Tammy's memory are her husband, Will; daughters: Jessica (Gorje) Ramirez and Rebecca Stiff; six grandchildren: Prudence, Gillian, Max, Darrel, Elijah, and Ali; two sisters: Cathy (Trey) Littlejohn and Marvina (Kenny) Warne; two nephews: Zane (Sarah) Zertuche and Adam Gilbert; niece, Melisa Reyes; several other family members; and her favorite pup, Fuzzy.

Preceding Tammy in death were her parents; son, Phillip Coleman Jr.; three brothers: Bobbie, David, and Gordon Jr; and nephew, Anthony Zertuche.
