Ramona Jean Boeckmann, 90, of La Porte City, died Saturday, February 10, 2024, at La Porte City Specialty Care. She was born June 23, 1933, in Iowa, daughter of Walter and Adelia (Knief) Eickelberg. Raised by her Aunt Dora and Uncle Arnold Matthias. She graduated from Denver High School. She married Norman H. "Norm" Boeckmann on November 29, 1953, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waterloo. He preceded her in death on August 1, 2023.

Ramona worked as a bank teller at La Porte City State Bank, Norwest Bank, and Wells Fargo for 25 years. She also provided home daycare. She and Norm were active members of La Porte City American Lutheran Church.

She was an avid gardener and canned many things from her garden. She was a member of La Porte City's ladies bowling league for many years. She loved spending time with her friends and traveling to Texas in the winter. She also enjoyed walking regularly.

She is survived by her two sons, Alan Boeckmann of La Porte City, Mike (MaryAnn Miller) Boeckmann of Allison; a daughter, Pamela Steffen of Des Moines; four grandchildren, Chad (Kate) Steffen of Altoona, Mark (Michelle Van Dorn) Steffen of Cedar Falls, Taylor (Tyler) Brinkman of Bristow, Maggie (Terry Davis) Boeckmann of Allison; six great-grandchildren, Tyler, Jordan, Lindsey, Kaley, Brecken, and Krayton; half-brother, Gary (Mary) Eickelberg of Minnesota; and a half sister, Ann (Chris) Vanos of Arizona; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Rowe of Fredericksburg; and her best friend, Helen Krueger; and many nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norm; sisters, Donna (Robert) Rasmussen, Ruth (Robert) Deterding and Irene (Jr) Mills, brother Victor (Eula) Eickelberg, brothers-in law, Fred and Roy Boeckmann; and sisters-in-law, Maxine Wedeking, and Marion Scharnhorst.

Services will be held at 10:30, Thursday, February 15, at the American Lutheran Church with burial in the West View Cemetery, both in La Porte City. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the church.
