Irene Hannah Elizabeth Fehr Clough, 104, of Dysart, went home to be with her Savior on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Sunrise Hill Assisted Living in Traer. A Public Graveside Service will be held Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Dysart Cemetery. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11:00 AM at Zion Lutheran Church in Dysart with a luncheon and time of sharing to follow at the church.

Irene was born on the home farm by Dysart, Iowa on January 10, 1920 to Henry W. and Kathryn A. (Kersten) Fehr.

She was the last surviving member of Dysart High School class of 1937.

On February 26, 1939, she married her neighbor Merle Emmett Clough at Zion Lutheran Church, Dysart. God blessed them with sixty-seven years of marriage. Merle passed on Father's Day 2006.

Merle and Irene enjoyed livestock and grain farming. They spent most of their married life on their Century farm.

Irene will be remembered for homemade noodles, made from scratch chocolate cake and special sweet pickles.

Irene's grandchildren and great grandchildren were the joy of her life. In December, her first great-great granddaughter, Vashti arrived and she was so excited to show her five generation photo. She loved her vegetable and flower gardens and would always have the first radishes, lettuce and onions.

Irene enjoyed the simple things in life-children's laughter and love, birds singing, fresh air, sunshine, smells and colors of flowers.

Survivors include daughter, Sharon (Craig) Earley of Traer; two granddaughters, Allyson (Ryan) Bailey of Bussey and Andrea (Reggie) Bean of Center Point; surviving great grandchildren, Hunter, Attylissa (Levi Collins), Eli Bailey and Maree, Emmilee (fiancé Nathan Franck) and Aymee Bean; many nieces and nephews have fond memories of time on the farm with them.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Merle; and three brothers, Harris, Harland and Delmar.

A memorial fund will be established.

Jesus replied, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6
