Obituaries : Robert Laverne Rouse

Robert Laverne Rouse, 62, of Vinton, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, November 30, 2025. Per Robert’s wishes, there will be no services. Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home is caring for Robert and his family.

Robert was born on August 5, 1963, in Vinton, the son of Larry Rouse, Sr. and Linda (Cashman) Rouse. He attended Washington High School in Vinton. He worked the majority of his life as a tuckpointer in the masonry field with Schoonover Tuckpointing, retiring due to health reasons.

Robert loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.

Robert is survived by his wife, Audrey Bures of Vinton; daughter, Kelsey (Brody) Kerner of Vinton; son, Brandon Rouse of Fairfax; three grandchildren, Austin, Bailey and Brooks Kerner; brother, Larry (Kim) Rouse, Jr. of Newhall; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, mother- and father-in-law, and grandparents, all of whom we are sure greeted him with open arms.
