Dear Editor:Here are some of the facts about this pro-abortion bill that failed in the United States Senate:
  1. This bill would have legalized abortion up to the moment of birth.
  2. It does not protect religious institutions, like Catholic hospitals, from having to perform abortions.
  3. This bill goes FAR beyond Roe v. Wade.
  4. It would take away states' rights to legislate on abortion.
  5. I don't think this is what a majority of Americans would want as law. It should always have been up to the many states and their legislatures as they select as representatives.

RB May 17, 2022, 12:51 pm I have not seen the bill in print. Where are you getting your information? Please post the link. There is a place, somewhere in the middle, to make this work. I'm not crazy about abortions, especially late term. With that said, the decision to have an abortion should be a woman's choice. It's between her and her doctor and not made in DC or Des Moines. Maybe we should consider laws that hold men accountable for getting women pregnant.
NG May 18, 2022, 1:26 am Randy, here is a link to the new law the Democrats tried to pass.

I agree it is time to hold men accountable. A man can get a woman pregnant every day of the entire nine months while a woman can have one baby during those same nine months.
