We are supporting Colman Silbernagel for Iowa State Senate District 42.

Colman and his wife grew up on dairy farms and he understands Agriculture. Colman served in the Afghanistan war and was awarded the Bronze Star. Colman served as the Benton County Republican County Chair and is familiar with all the issues facing voters in Iowa. Colman is an active and effective leader in his community and church.

Colman will listen to all sides of an issue and then make the best decision for the people of his district based on transparency and accountability. Colman will:

* Defend life from conception to natural death

* Work to lower our taxes

* Protect our 2nd amendment rights

* Support our veterans

* Defend our police, not defund them

* Fight for the children of our state to have a quality education and will not allow schools to push their radical political agenda

* Oppose mask and vaccine mandates - Freedom of Choice!

We encourage you to vote for Colman Silbernagel in the upcoming Republican Iowa State Senate 42 primary on Tuesday, June 7.

BE May 31, 2022, 6:27 pm He gets my vote! My only question is when can he run for president?
jt June 1, 2022, 11:30 am These are pretty broad statements made for the headlines. I would like to know more specifics on his thoughts of 2nd amendment rights in our 21st century society and public taxpayer funds being used for private school family vouchers. Lower taxes means less revenue for future state services. A surplus now is nice, but school funding still sits at 2% increase. Tom, as a former school board member, you know that schools have the same utility, transportation, material costs that rise at more than 2% every year. Also, give me some evidence of our Iowa police being defunded or radical ideas being taught in our schools.
TF June 5, 2022, 11:13 pm I appreciate the Husnik’s letter supporting Colman Silbernagel. It paints a good overall picture on Colman’s stance on some major issues. Honestly, I haven’t seen anything like this from any other candidate from either party vying for Iowa Senate District 42 (maybe I’m missing something) so this was good to read.

That being said, however, it’s disappointing to see no response to any of Judy Trygstad’s legitimate questions. Iowans are intelligent voters and we need in-depth responses from candidates. Our votes are by no means based on blanket statements, we are smarter than that, and it’s really disappointing not to hear more.
AB June 12, 2022, 9:46 pm It would certainly be refreshing if "freedom of choice" included "pro-choice," but that seems to be a step too far. And I am anxious to learn what political agendas would be banned from being discussed in our schools.
