Dear Editor,
As promised, I am answering questions from comments made from The Trump Report 5/4/25. Refer to that page for the questions. Thank you GS & RR.
GS
I am going to answer from your start.
- Yes, the blue suit thing was over-blown but what was worse is the photo of a sleeping Trump during the funeral mass. That to me is far worse. Then let’s follow that up with the AI meme of Trump dressed as Pope. I am not Catholic but if I were I would be insulted at his “joke”.
- The point with Abrego Garcia is the administration admits that he should not be on that plane due to an agreement he has with our government to be able to stay in the country until his case is settled. I do not know whether he is guilty or not, by the way, you don’t either. If Trump was any type of an honorable person, for Garcia and anyone else caught up in the dragnet who are not supposed to be on those planes, he would have sent those back once it was found out that they were mistakes. Instead, his stubbornness violates common decency and the law and refuses to make things right.
The administration has reported just the last couple of days that the reason for the Alien Enemies Act rounding up gang members from Venezuelan had no basis. Venezuela’s government is not sending the gang to our borders. The administration admits that the reason for the rounding up of supposed gang members is wrong. The Alien Enemies Act should not have been used. The courts will eventually be deciding this. I am not defending gang bangers but the very basis of our constitution of due process and equal protection under the law.
There is a whole another topic of who has influence over Trump and what are they giving him for information. Finally, the voices of questioning this has started to take notice especially after the bonkers interview with Terry Moran of ABC and his recent comments about little girls not getting 30 dolls for Christmas and may have to accept 2 or 3, or 4. I would like to know what kids gets 30 dolls as presents?
- Lies. Until you examine the over 30,000 lies from Trump’s first term, I am not going down this road. Trump continues to lie each day and it is laughable that you would even bring up this subject complaining about someone else’s lies.
- I hate to disappoint you but I don’t care if you have the fantasy of Trump 2028 so to think that somehow you are getting to me, your not!

- Bird. When I wrote the article, the last I knew was that she was considering it. I have not seen that she has decided against it. It may well be the case. But that is only part of the issue. As I stated, she constantly signed onto lawsuits against Biden but the point I made was that she is so ensconced with Trump that now when she should be standing up for Iowa against Trump she passes.
- References. The reason I put references is to basically stop others from saying that I am making things up, (fake news). It is always good to validate what you are saying.
I have a process when finding references. First, the mainstream media has been maligned the past few years. I choose to use credible resources not blogs, podcasts, that are fueled by their own agenda’s. I spend a lot of time staying up-to-date on current events. I always have. As a teenager during Vietnam, I probably was one of only a few of my classmates who watched Walter Cronkite’s nightly news for updates on the war. I watched the Watergate hearings on TV. I am an unabashed political nerd.
So, it is part of my daily like to stay atop what is going on. The first thing I do every morning I get on the internet to see what occurred overnight, I read several news and opinion sites and watch programs on TV. I do not get my opinions from “The View” like I have been accused of. I do not watch that program at all. When I retired, I made a personal vow not to watch TV all day. I do not turn on the TV until later in the afternoon. I look for information and I read taking in what I have found.
When I find a topic that I want to know about, I search the web of collaborating stories. I try to find several sources looking for both sides of the issue before forming an opinion to write about. I do everything I can to make sure that the sources I site are correct and true. As far as I know, there has not been any sources that were incorrect that I am aware of. I may only site one source for a topic but I have researched the topic as best as I can to make sure what I write is not fake news.
I am biased. I do not hide that I am a card-carrying long-time Democrat, more liberal than conservative but fair. The sad thing today is people will not listen to each other. It is important to some to discount the “other side” because we are too entrenched in being right than knowing the truth.
The bottom line is that my sources have been backed up by a variety of ways so that what I say and reference is correct as much as I can account for. People may not like what I write but should know that there are many ways that I come to my opinions and I do that process with care.
