An exciting week at State for the Boys' Wrestlers. The first day brought the team to 3rd place.- Aldin Swanson: 1-0

Results for the 2nd day quarterfinals and the 2nd round consolations, the team tied for 3rd place- Aldin Swanson: 0-2- Carter Lamont: 0-1- Cooper Sanders: 1-0- Gabe Sanders: 1-0- Brady Ortner: 1-0- Curtis Erickson: 0-1In the heartbreak round, the team congratulated Aldin, Carter and Curtis on an awesome season and will cheer them as they come back next year. The semi-finals 2A brought Cooper, Gabe and Brady still working towards the championship, and bringing in 4th place for the team.- Cooper Sanders: W by pin in 1:34- Gabe Sanders: W 3-2- Brady Ortner: L 4-6Brady wrestled to determine if he would stand at 3rd or 5th place A point of interest, Brady will become Vinton-Shellsburg's first-ever 3X state place winner for the boys! Results from the consolation semi-finals and finals at State:- Brady won his consolation semi-finals match by a pin in 3 min 27 sec- Brady also wins his 3rd place match 4-2 in double OTBrady finishes his high school career as Vinton-Shellsburg's first male three time state place winner (6th, 6th, 3rd) and with 3rd highest career wins with 148 wins! Cooper and Gabe will go on to wrestle for 1st place in the championship matches.
