Girls swimming was at Williamsburg for an invitational last night, and the Stormin' Vikettes came away with 3rd place overall. The girls had some good times, several setting new PR's. Olivia Schminke had a great night - cutting almost 4 seconds off her previous best time in the 200 IM to take home 1st place. She was also a part of 3 relays that all took home top 3 hardware. Freshman Brie Carolan had a fantastic swim in her 100 Backstroke, cutting 1.73 seconds off her previous best, taking 3rd place, and posting almost exactly even splits from the first and second half of the race. Olivia, Brie and Tori Elwick (placing 2nd in the 50 Freestyle) all took home individual top 3 medals. We have a few days of practice before heading to Decorah for our Conference meet on Saturday, October 14.
