Grant Sagan scored as many points (21) as the entire Independence basketball team, as he lead the Vikings to a  66-21 victory Friday in Vinton. 

Senior Jake Milroy had 16 points for the Vikings, and Max Kearns added 13. Sagan led the team in rebounds, with nine. 

On Tuesday, the Vikings begin a three-game road stretch, at Clear Creek-Amana, Marion and Center Point Urbana before playing their next home game Jan. 20 vs. Central Clinton-DeWitt. The Vikings, on an eight-game winning streak, continue to own first place in the Wamac West, with a 9-1 record. During that eight-game span, the Vikings have won by an average of 20 points. Independence remains winless on the season.
