On Monday, July 15th, games of Pepper Cards were played. First place went to Don Selken with 303 points. LaVonne Henkle won 2nd place with 273 points. Third place was a tied between Irene Geiger and Evelyn Greenwood with 267 points. After the games, refreshments were served by Card Club. Beverages were provided by HACAP.

On Tuesday, July 16th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Maureen Haisman was the volunteer caller. Faye Goodell and Elsie Knaack handpicked the games. Game one was the Letter “M” with Elsie Knaack winning. Game two was a 9-Pack with Marvin Witt and Faye Goodell winning. Game three was Wild Number Three Bingos with Greta Geiken winning. Game four was a Diamond with Greta Geiken winning. Elsie Knaack won game five with a Blackout.

On Wednesday, July 17th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Glenda Kerkman was the volunteer caller. Mae Wilhelmi handpicked the games. Game one was Frame the Free Spot and Four Corners with Mae Wilhelmi winning. Game two was a 9-Pack with Faye Goodell winning. Game three was Wild Number Three Bingos with Mae Wilhelmi winning. Game four was the Letter “L” with JoAnn Roster as the winner. Hazel Eastwood won game five with Blackout.

On Thursday, July 18th, the activity of the day was 10-Cent Bingo. Vickie Holst was the volunteer caller. Dora Vogt handpicked the games. Game one was a 9-Pack with Dora Vogt and Margaret Fuehrer winning. Game two was Two Hard Way Bingos with Greta Geiken winning. Game three was Wild Number Three Bingos with Ruth Wieditz winning. Game four was All Around the Free Spot and Four Corners with Margaret Fuehrer winning. Ruth Wieditz won game five with Blackout.

On Friday, July 19th, there were seven tables of 500 Cards were played. Nellie Cobb won 1st place with 3,660 points. Geri Shaffer won 2nd place with 3,220 points. Joanne Jones won 3rd place with 3,040 points. After the games, refreshments were provided by the Card Club. HACAP provided the beverages.

On Monday, July 22nd, there were five tables of Pepper Cards were played. Bill Milne won 1st Place with 316 points. Hazel Eastwood won 2nd place with 292 points. Merle Roths won 3rd place with 279 points. Refreshments were provided by Card Club and beverages provided by HACAP.

On Tuesday, July 23rd, the afternoon musical entertainment was provided by Hauser/DeWees Music.

After the games, Geri Shaffer brought cheese and crackers to share for her birthday. Refreshments were provided by Card Club. Beverages were provided by HACAP.

Serving Buffet from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday. A choice of salads is available on the buffet.

Everyone is WELCOME! Suggested contribution for individuals 60 years old or older, and their spouse (regardless of age) is $2.75 for the meal. Individuals who are not yet 60 are WELCOME but need to pay $3.75 for their meal. Carryout meals are available. We deliver meals to Vinton, Newhall, Urbana, and Garrison/Mt Auburn. The suggested contribution is $3.00/meal if you are 60 or older. We also have nutritious frozen meals and liquid supplements. Delivery is throughout Benton County. Please call 319-472-4761 for more information about services or to reserve a table for groups of 3c or more.

Each month the 4th St Diner has a special day set aside to celebrate birthdays for that month. It is always scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month. Anyone having a birthday for that particular month is encouraged to make a reservation for themselves and any guests they would like to celebrate with. The names of all birthday celebrants who have made a reservation for the Birthday Table are entered into the door prize drawing. We currently have two door prizes scheduled for each month. The first is $5 in Vinton Unlimited Value Dollars generously donated by Vinton Unlimited. The second is a gift certificate for a free 4th Street Diner meal. Reservations for the Birthday Dinner table can be made by calling 472-4761. Reservations need to be made by 10:00 AM on the day of the celebration.
