Serving Buffet from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday. A choice of salads are available Monday – Friday on site.
Everyone is WELCOME! Suggested contribution for individuals 60 years old or older, and their spouse (regardless of age) is $3.25 for the meal. Individuals who are not yet 60 are WELCOME but need to pay $4.25 for their meal. If you are just coming for the activity, the suggested contribution is $1.00. Carryout meals are available. We deliver meals to Vinton, Newhall, Urbana, and Garrison/Mt Auburn. The suggested contribution is $3.50/meal if you are 60 or older. For those under age 60, the suggested contribution is $4.25 for home delivered meals. We also have nutritious frozen meals and liquid supplements. Delivery is throughout Benton County. Please call by 10:00 AM daily to cancel a Home Delivered Meal. For more information about services, please call 319-472-4761, or to reserve a table for groups of three or more. Please help us recruit more people to join the 4th St Diner Meal program. All contributions are used toward the continued operations of the meal site.
Each month the 4th St Diner has a special day set aside to celebrate birthdays for that month. It is always scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month. Anyone having a birthday for that particular month is encouraged to make a reservation for themselves and any guests they would like to celebrate with. The names of all birthday celebrants who have made a reservation for the Birthday Table are entered into the door prize drawing. We currently have two door prizes scheduled for each month. The first is $5 in Vinton Unlimited Value Dollars generously donated by Vinton Unlimited. The second is a gift certificate for a free 4th Street Diner meal. Reservations for the Birthday Dinner table can be made by calling 472-4761. Reservations need to be made by 10:00 AM on the day of the celebration.

The 4th Street Diner meal on Sunday, October 27th will be Roast Turkey, Mashed Potatoes/Gravy, Broccoli, Mixed Green Salad, Blushing Pears, Cake, WW Bread, Milk.
On Monday, September 9th, tables of Pepper Cards were played. After the games, refreshments were served by Card Club. Beverages were provided by HACAP.
On Tuesday, September 10th, we celebrated all the September birthdays. Those honored with birthdays were Norma Ellis, Belva Dake, Bryan Lowe, Dixie Joens, Maybeth Graham, and Esther Novotny. Norma Ellis was the gift certificate winner. Stuart Gulick provided the afternoon musical entertainment.
On Wednesday, September 11th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Wendy Pennington was the volunteer caller and Elsie Knaack handpicked the games. Game one was a Flag with Mae Wilhelmi winning. Game two was a 9-Pack with George Eckhart winning. Game three was Stair Steps with Norma Ellis winning. Game four was Wild Card Three Bingos with George Eckhart as the winner. Faye Goodell won game five with Blackout.
On Thursday, September 12th, we welcomed The Sunny Side of 60 as our guests. The afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. John Isbell was the volunteer caller. Marion Isbell handpicked the games. Game one was a 9-Pack with Faye Goodell winning. Game two was Wild Card Three Bingos with George Eckhart winning. Game three was a Layer Cake with Greta Geiken winning. Game four was the Letter “Z” with Greta Geiken as the winner. Faye Goodell won game five with Blackout.
On Friday, September 13th, tables of 500 Cards were played. Merle Roths won 1st place with 3,430 points. Bud Barr won 2nd place with 3,020 points. Nellie Cobb won 3rd place with 2,890 points. After the games, refreshments were provided by the Card Club. HACAP provided the beverages.
On Monday, September 16th, tables of Pepper Cards were played. Don Selken won 1st place with 305 points. Bud Barr won 2nd place with 285 points. Helen Purdy won 3rd place with 281 points. After the games, Esther Novotny brought cake to share in honor of her birthday. Other refreshments were provided by card club. HACAP provided the beverages.
On Tuesday, September 17th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Maureen Haisman was the volunteer caller. Elsie Knaack handpicked the games. Game one was a Flag with Greta Geiken and Elsie Knaack winning. Game two was a 9-Pack with Irene Geiger winning. Game three was a Telephone Pole with Faye Goodell winning. Game four was Frame the Free and Four Corners with Greta Geiken winning. Lorraine Fix, Elsie Knaack, and Faye Goodell all won with Blackout on game five.
On Wednesday, September 18th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Linda Lough was the volunteer caller. Orville Ellingson handpicked the games. Game one was Four Corners with Hazel Eastwood as the winner. Game two was All Around the Free Space with Elsie Knaack winning. Game three was a 9-Pack with Mae Wilhelmi as the winner. Game four was a Baseball with Mae Wilhelmi and Don Dill as the winners. George Eckhart won game five with Blackout.
On Thursday, September 19th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Vickie Holst was the volunteer caller. Norma Ellis handpicked the games. Game one was a 9-Pack with Ruth Wieditz as the winner. Game two was Four Corners and Three Bingos with Ruth Wieditz and Elsie Knaack winning. Game three was a Flag with Faye Goodell winning. Game four was a 3 Layer Cake with Norma Ellis winning. Orville Ellingson won game five with Blackout.
On Friday, September 20th, there were five tables of 500 played. Merle Roths won 1st place with 3,190 points. Second place went to Don Selken with 3,050 points. Bill Milne won 3rd place with 2,910 points. After the games, refreshments were provided by Card Club. Beverages were provided by HACAP.
