Business : Unlimited Possibilities: The joy of skydiving

Even Iowa Public Radio has visited Paradise Skydives in Vinton.

Vinton Unlimited Board members will be sharing stories featuring local businesses and attractions over the next few months. This first article, about Paradise Skydives, is by VU Board Member Scott Barron:

Exhilaration…..anticipation….satisfaction. These are the words of individuals that have jumped out of an air plane a 13,500 ft above ground. This little known secret operates just 4 miles north of Vinton, Paradise Skydives. For years many Vinton residents have either seen or heard of people skydiving on the weekends, some even jumping themselves.

Every weekend when the forecast is right, many of us drive by the airport and see lines of cars parked, then we look up in hopes to see a plane or parachutes gliding down. Paradise Skydives offer great opportunities not only for the first timer but also for the experienced diver. Many years ago people thought skydiving was for the young adventurous type, this is no longer the case. Whether you skydive for your 20th birthday or your 80th birthday, the experience will last a lifetime.

As youngsters, many, if not all of us, thought how fun it could be to jump off something high and fly. Some of us may have even tried to jump off the swing-set or the trampoline in hopes of flying. Here’s your chance, Paradise Skydives has built a reputation so great, they are known around the Midwestand the country as one of the most respected, safest, and “best bang for your buck” places to skydive. They have gained such respect for safety that many individuals around the Midwestonly know Vinton as the “skydiving capital” of the US.

If you are thinking of skydiving or thinking about going out to watch the divers take to the sky or just want to go check out the air craft that carries the jumpers, Head on out to Vinton’s little treasure: Paradise Skydives. It’s just one more example of the “Unlimited Possibilities” for fun in Vinton!
