The 4th Street Diner meal on Sunday, November 10th will be Mushroom Steak, Mashed Potatoes/Gravy, Carrots, Fruit Mix, Cake, WW Bread, Milk.
On Monday, September 23rd, three tables of Pepper Cards were played. Frances Kelly and Merle Roth tied for 1st place with 260 points. Geri Shaffer won2nd place with 257 points. Third place went to Greta Geiken. After the games, refreshments were served by Card Club. Beverages were provided by HACAP.
On Tuesday, September 24th, Hauser and O’Deen provided the afternoon musical entertainment.
On Wednesday, September 25th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Wendy Pennington was the volunteer caller and Evelyn Greenwood handpicked the games. Game one was a 9-Pack with Darlene Werning winning. Game two was a Flag with Mae Wilhelmi winning. Game three was Wild Number Three Bingos with Greta Geiken winning. Game four was a Layer Cake with Mae Wilhelmi as the winner. Marion Isbell and Mae Wilhelmi won game five with Blackout.
On Thursday, September 26th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. VickieHolst was the volunteer caller. JoAnn Roster handpicked the games. Game one was a Checkmark with Geri Shaffer winning. Game two was The Letter “T” withJoAnn Roster winning. Game three was Wild Number Three Bingos with MarionIsbell winning. Game four was the Letter “W” with JoAnn Roster as the winner. Darlene Werning and Marion Isbell won game five with Blackout.
On Friday, September 27th, four tables of 500 Cards were played. MargaretFuehrer won 1st place with 3,380 points. Bill Milne won 2nd place with 3,020 points. Bernadine Barr won 3rd place with 2,830 points. After the games, refreshments were provided by the Card Club. HACAP provided the beverages.
On Monday, September 30th, four tables of Pepper Cards were played. Hazel Eastwood won 1st place with 301 points. Bill Milne won 2nd place with 279 points. Leroy Wieser won 3rd place with 249 points. After the games, other refreshments were provided by card club. HACAP provided the beverages.
On Tuesday, October 1st, the afternoon activity was Surprise Bingo. MaureenHaisman was the volunteer caller. Ruth Wieditz handpicked the games. Game one was a Flag with Hazel Eastwood winning an umbrella. Game two was Wild Number Three Bingos with Elsie Knaack winning hand cream. Game three was Four Postage Stamps with Greta Geiken winning a meal ticket. Game four was a 9-Pack with JoAnn Roster winning a CD. Lorraine Fix won candy with a Blackout on game five.
On Wednesday, October 2nd, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. LindaLough was the volunteer caller. Faye Goodell handpicked the games. Game one was a Flag with Lorraine Fix as the winner. Game two was a 9-Pack with MaeWilhelmi winning. Game three was Frame the Free and Four Corners with MaeWilhelmi as the winner. Game four was Frame the Card with Elsie Knaack as the winners. Mae Wilhelmi won game five with Blackout.

On Friday, October 4th, there were four tables of 500 played. Bill Milne won 1stplace with 3,150 points. Second place went to Milo Cobb with 2,570 points. Budd Barr won 3rd place with 2,560 points. After the games, Wilma Loutsch provided cake to share. Other refreshments were provided by Card Club. Beverages were provided by HACAP.

Serving Buffet from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday. A choice of salads are available Monday – Friday on site.
Everyone is WELCOME! Suggested contribution for individuals 60 years old or older, and their spouse (regardless of age) is $3.25 for the meal. Individuals who are not yet 60 are WELCOME but need to pay $4.25 for their meal. If you are just coming for the activity, the suggested contribution is $1.00. Carryout meals are available. We deliver meals to Vinton, Newhall, Urbana, and Garrison/Mt Auburn. The suggested contribution is $3.50/meal if you are 60 or older. For those under age 60, the suggested contribution is $4.25 for home delivered meals. We also have nutritious frozen meals and liquid supplements. Delivery is throughout Benton County. Please call by 10:00 AM daily to cancel a Home Delivered Meal. For more information about services, please call 319-472-4761, or to reserve a table for groups of three or more. Please help us recruit more people to join the 4th St Diner Meal program. All contributions are used toward the continued operations of the meal site.
Each month the 4th St Diner has a special day set aside to celebrate birthdays for that month. It is always scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month. Anyone having a birthday for that particular month is encouraged to make a reservation for themselves and any guests they would like to celebrate with. The names of all birthday celebrants who have made a reservation for the Birthday Table are entered into the door prize drawing. We currently have two door prizes scheduled for each month. The first is $5 in Vinton Unlimited Value Dollars generously donated by Vinton Unlimited. The second is a gift certificate for a free 4th Street Diner meal. Reservations for the Birthday Dinner table can be made by calling 472-4761. Reservations need to be made by 10:00 AM on the day of the celebration.
