A choice of salads are available Monday – Friday on site. Everyone is WELCOME! Suggested contribution for individuals 60 years old or older, and their spouse (regardless of age) is $3.25 for the meal. Individuals who are not yet 60 are WELCOME but need to pay $4.25 for their meal. If you are just coming for the activity, the suggested contribution is $1.00. Carryout meals are available. We deliver meals to Vinton, Newhall, Urbana, and Garrison/Mt Auburn. The suggested contribution is $3.50/meal if you are 60 or older. For those under age 60, the suggested contribution is $4.25 for home delivered meals. We also have nutritious frozen meals and liquid supplements. Delivery is throughout Benton County. Please call by 10:00 AM daily to cancel a Home Delivered Meal. For more information about services, please call 319-472-4761, or to reserve a table for groups of three or more. Please help us recruit more people to join the 4th St Diner Meal program. All contributions are used toward the continued operations of the meal site. Each month the 4th St Diner has a special day set aside to celebrate birthdays for that month. It is always scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month. Anyone having a birthday for that particular month is encouraged to make a reservation for themselves and any guests they would like to celebrate with. The names of all birthday celebrants who have made a reservation for the Birthday Table are entered into the door prize drawing. We currently have two door prizes scheduled for each month. The first is $5 in Vinton Unlimited Value Dollars generously donated by Vinton Unlimited. The second is a gift certificate for a free 4th Street Diner meal. Reservations for the Birthday Dinner table can be made by calling 472-4761. Reservations need to be made by 10:00 AM on the day of the celebration. FREE SOFT SERVE ICE CREAM AVAILABLE DAILY FOR EVERYONE WHO EATS A MEAL AT THE SITE DURING MEAL SERVICE TIMES. The 4th Street Diner meal on Sunday, March 16th, will be Roast Beef, Mashed Potatoes/Gravy, Broccoli/Cheese Sauce, Mixed Green Salad, Peach Crisp, WW Bread, Milk. On Tuesday, January 7th, the afternoon activity was Surprise Bingo. Maureen Haisman was the volunteer caller. The games were handpicked by Ruth Wieditz. Game one was a Flag with Peg Schott winning a bag of goodies. Game two was Around the Free and Four Corners with Orville Ellingson winning a meal ticket. Game three was Stair Steps with Ruth Wieditz winning a bag of goodies. Game four was Wild Number Three Bingos with JoAnn Roster winning a bag of goodies. Vivian Covington won a bag of goodies with a Blackout on game five. On Wednesday, January 8th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Wendy Pennington was the volunteer caller. Game one was Wild Number Three Bingos Hard Way with JoAnn Roster winning. Game two was Four Corners Frame the Free Spot with JoAnn Roster winning. Game three was a Baseball with Elsie Knaack winning. Game four was a 9-Pack with Geri Shaffer as the winner. Elsie Knaack won game five with a Blackout. On Thursday, January 9th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Norma Ellis was the volunteer caller. JoAnn Roster handpicked the games. Game one was a Check Mark with Marion Isbell winning. Game two was Wild Number Three Bingos with Marion Isbell winning. Game three was Top and Bottom Lines with JoAnn Roster winning. Game four was the Letter “W” with JoAnn Roster winning. JoAnn Roster won game five with Blackout. On Friday, January 10th, the afternoon activity was a 500 Card Party. After the games, refreshments were served by the card club. HACAP provided the beverages. On Monday, January 13th, the afternoon activity included games of Pepper. Geri Shaffer won 1st place with 289 points. Frances Kelly won 2nd place with 278 points. Hazel Eastwood won 3rd place with 262 points. After the games, refreshments were served by Card Club. Beverage were provided by HACAP. On Tuesday, January 14th, we celebrated the January birthdays. Those honored with having a birthday were Phil Boileske, Elsie Knaack, Don Selken, Merle Roths, and Stan Hepke. Stan was the winner of the free meal gift certificate. The afternoon musical entertainment was provided by Stuart Gulick. On Wednesday, January 15th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Amanda Herron was the volunteer caller. JoAnn Roster handpicked the games. Game one was Top Line and Bottom Line with Orville Ellingson winning. Game two was the Letter “T” with JoAnn Roster as the winner. Game three was Wild Number Three Bingos with Marion Isbell winning. Game four was Four Corners and Frame the Free Spot with Hazel Eastwood winning. Ruth Wieditz won game five with Blackout. On Thursday, January 16th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Vickie Holst was the volunteer caller. The games were handpicked by Nancy Weise. Game one was a Shot Gun with Nancy Weise winning. Game two was a Crazy “T” with JoAnn Roster winning. Game three was the Letter “M” with Geri Shaffer and JoAnn Roster winning. Game four was BNO with George Eckhart, Hazel Eastwood, and Ruth Wieditz winning. Keith Weise won game five with Blackout. On Friday, January 17th, games of 500 cards were played. Don Selken won 1st place with 3,620 points. Lois Romman won 2nd place with 3,270 points. Third place went to Hazel Eastwood with 3,180 points. After the games, refreshments were provided by the Card Club. HACAP provided the beverages.
