Serving Buffet from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM, Monday through
Friday. A choice of salads are available Monday – Friday
on site.
Everyone is WELCOME! Suggested contribution for
individuals 60 years old or older, and their spouse
(regardless of age) is $3.25 for the meal. Individuals
who are not yet 60 are WELCOME but need to pay $4.25 for
their meal. If you are just coming for the activity, the
suggested contribution is $1.00. Carryout meals are
available. We deliver meals to Vinton, Newhall, Urbana,
and Garrison/Mt Auburn. The suggested contribution is
$3.50/meal if you are 60 or older. For those under age
60, the suggested contribution is $4.25 for home delivered
meals. We also have nutritious frozen meals and liquid
supplements. Delivery is throughout Benton County.
Please call by 10:00 AM daily to cancel a Home Delivered
Meal. For more information about services, please call
319-472-4761, or to reserve a table for groups of three or
more. Please help us recruit more people to join the 4th
St Diner Meal program. All contributions are used toward
the continued operations of the meal site.
Each month the 4th St Diner has a special day set aside to
celebrate birthdays for that month. It is always
scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month. Anyone
having a birthday for that particular month is encouraged
to make a reservation for themselves and any guests they
would like to celebrate with. The names of all birthday
celebrants who have made a reservation for the Birthday
Table are entered into the door prize drawing. We
currently have two door prizes scheduled for each month.
The first is $5 in Vinton Unlimited Value Dollars
generously donated by Vinton Unlimited. The second is a
gift certificate for a free 4th Street Diner meal.
Reservations for the Birthday Dinner table can be made by
calling 472-4761. Reservations need to be made by 10:00
AM on the day of the celebration.

Beef, Parslied Potatoes, Broccoli/Cheese Sauce, Mixed
Green Salad, Peach Crisp, WW Bread, Milk.
On Monday, July 28th, games of pepper cards were played.
Bill Milne won 1st place with 253 points. Bud Barr won
2nd place with 182 points. Bernadine Barr and Don Selk
tied for 3rd place with 153 points. After the games,
refreshments were served by the card club. HACAP provided
the beverages.
On Tuesday, July 29th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent
Bingo. Maureen Haisman was the volunteer caller. Ruth
Wieditz handpicked the games. Game one was Four Postage
Stamps with Ruth Wieditz winning. Game two was All Around
the Free Space and Four Corners with George Eckhart as the
winner. Game three was a Goal Post with Viola Calvert
winning. Game four was Wild Number Three Bingos with Jack
Oliphant winning. Norma Ellis won game five with Blackout.
On Wednesday, July 30th, the afternoon activity was
10-Cent Bingo. Wendy Pennington was the volunteer caller.
JoAnn Roster handpicked the games. Game one was a Layer
Cake with George Eckhart as the winner. Game two was Frame
the Free and Four Corners with Hazel Eastwood as the
winner. Game three was Wild Number Three Bingos with Mae
Wilhelmi winning. Game four was Frame the Card with Mae
Wilhelmi winning. Oma Eckhart won game five with Blackout.
On Thursday, July 31st, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent
Bingo. Vickie Holst was the volunteer caller. Dora Vogt
handpicked the games. Game one was the Letter “X” with
Norma Ellis winning. Game two was a 6-Pack with Norma
Ellis as the winner. Game three was All Around the Free
Spot with Dora Vogt as the winner. Game four was Two Top
Lines with Jack Oliphant and Viola Calvert winning.
Lorraine Fix and Dora Vogt won game five with a Blackout.
On Friday, August 1st, the afternoon activity was a 500
Card Party with three tables of players. Geri Shaffer won
1st place with 3,650 points. Nell Cobb won 2nd place with
3,210 points. Don Selken won 3rd place with 3,150 points.
After the games, refreshments were served by the card
club. HACAP provided the beverages.
On Monday, August 4th, the afternoon activity was a Pepper
Card Party. After the games, refreshments were served by
the card club. HACAP provided the beverages.
On Tuesday, August 5th, the afternoon activity was
Surprise Bingo. Maureen Haisman was the volunteer caller.
Delane Kalina handpicked the games. Game one was a 9-Pack
with Darlene Werning winning popcorn. Game two was a Wild
Number Three Bingos with Lorraine Fix winning popcorn.
Game three was the Letter “X” with Teresa Shaw winning
popcorn. Game four was a Crazy “T” with Elsie Knaack
winning popcorn. Hazel Eastwood won a meal ticket on game
five with a Blackout.
On Wednesday, August 6th, the afternoon activity was
10-Cent Bingo. Wendy Pennington was the volunteer caller.

Bingo with Lorraine Fix winning. Game two was a 9-Pack
with Lorraine Fix winning. Game three was Wild Number
Three Bingos with Mae Wilhelmi winning. Game four was the
Letter “W” with Mae Wilhelmi winning. Oma Eckhart won game
five with Blackout.
On Thursday, August 7th, the afternoon musical
entertainment was provided by Riggle and Roster Music.
On Friday, August 8th, games of 500 cards played. After
the games, refreshments were provided by the Card Club.
