Serving Buffet from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday. A choice of salads are available Monday – Friday on site.
Everyone is WELCOME! Suggested contribution for individuals 60 years old or older, and their spouse (regardless of age) is $3.25 for the meal. Individuals who are not yet 60 are WELCOME but need to pay $4.25 for their meal. If you are just coming for the activity, the suggested contribution is $1.00. Carryout meals are available. We deliver meals to Vinton, Newhall, Urbana, and Garrison/Mt Auburn. The suggested contribution is $3.50/meal if you are 60 or older. For those under age 60, the suggested contribution is $4.25 for home delivered meals. We also have nutritious frozen meals and liquid supplements. Delivery is throughout Benton County. Please call by 10:00 AM daily to cancel a Home Delivered Meal. For more information about services, please call 319-472-4761, or to reserve a table for groups of three or more. Please help us recruit more people to join the 4th St Diner Meal program. All contributions are used toward the continued operations of the meal site.
Each month the 4th St Diner has a special day set aside to celebrate birthdays for that month. It is always scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month. Anyone having a birthday for that particular month is encouraged to make a reservation for themselves and any guests they would like to celebrate with. The names of all birthday celebrants who have made a reservation for the Birthday Table are entered into the door prize drawing. We currently have two door prizes scheduled for each month. The first is $5 in Vinton Unlimited Value Dollars generously donated by Vinton Unlimited. The second is a gift certificate for a free 4th Street Diner meal. Reservations for the Birthday Dinner table can be made by calling 472-4761. Reservations need to be made by 10:00 AM on the day of the celebration.

The 4th Street Diner meal on Sunday, October 26th, Roast Turkey, Mashed Potatoes/Gravy, Broccoli, Mixed Green Salad, Blushing Pears, Cake, WW Bread, Milk.
On Monday, August 11th, three tables of pepper cards were played. Budd Barr won 1st place with 225 points. Merle Roths won 2nd place with 214 points. Bill Milne won 3rd place with 194 points. After the games, refreshments were served by the card club. HACAP provided the beverages.
On Tuesday, August 12th, those with August Birthdays were recognized. Those honored were Peg Schott, Mary Rogers, Hazel Merchant, Arlene Merchant, Evelyn Roths, Carolyn Howard,
and Ellen Thow. Hazel Merchant won the door prize of a free meal certificate. Stuart Gulick provided the afternoon musical entertainment.
On Wednesday, August 13th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Wendy Pennington was the volunteer caller. Hazel Eastwood handpicked the games. Game one was a 9-Pack with JoAnn Roster as the winner. Game two was Wild Number Three Bingos with Lorraine Fix as the winner. Game three was Frame the Free and Four Corners with Norma Ellis winning. Game four was the Letter “X” with Lorraine Fix winning. Mae Wilhelmi and Ruth Wieditz both won game five with Blackout.
On Thursday, August 14th, we welcomed the Sunny Side of 60 Group as our guests. The afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Vickie Holst was the volunteer caller. Norma Ellis handpicked the games. Game one was a 9-Pack with Elsie Knaack winning. Game two was a Three Tier Cake with Elsie Knaack as the winner. Game three was Wild Number Three Bingos with Dixie Lee Joens as the winner. Game four was the Letter “H” with Hazel Eastwood winning. Donna Roepke won game five with a Blackout.
On Friday, August 15th, the afternoon activity was a 500 Card party. After the games, refreshments were served by the card club. HACAP provided the beverages.
On Monday, August 18th, the afternoon activity was a Pepper Card Party. There were four tables of cards played. Bill Milne won 1st place with 269 points. Esther Novotny won 2nd place with 247 points. Bernadine Barr won 3rd place with 236 points. After the games, refreshments were served by the card club. HACAP provided the beverages.
On Tuesday, August 19th, we welcomed the Virginia Gay Retirees as our guests. The afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Maureen Haisman was the volunteer caller. Lorraine Fix handpicked the games. Game one was a Crazy “T” with Viola Calvert winning. Game two was Frame the Free and Four Corners with Viola Calvert winning. Game three was a Layer Cake with Elsie Knaack winning. Game four was Postage Stamps Four Corners with Marion Isbell winning. Lorraine Fix and Marion Isbell won game five with a Blackout.
On Thursday, August 21st, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Vickie Holst was the volunteer caller. George Eckhart handpicked the games. Game one was a Goal Post with JoAnn Roster winning. Game two was a Stair Case with Hazel Eastwood and Elsie Knaack winning. Game three was Postage Stamps with Lorraine Fix and Norma Ellis winning. Game four was Three Bingos with Elsie Knaack winning. JoAnn Roster won game five with Blackout.
On Friday, August 22nd, four tables of 500 cards played. Bernadine Barr won 1st place with 3,800 points. Leroy Wieser won 2nd place with 3,440 points. Lois Roman won 3rd place with 2,900 points. After the games, refreshments were provided by the Card Club. HACAP provided the beverages.
