Serving Buffet from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM, Monday through
Friday. A choice of salads are available Monday – Friday
on site.
Everyone is WELCOME! Suggested contribution for
individuals 60 years old or older, and their spouse
(regardless of age) is $3.25 for the meal. Individuals
who are not yet 60 are WELCOME but need to pay $4.25 for
their meal. If you are just coming for the activity, the
suggested contribution is $1.00. Carryout meals are
available. We deliver meals to Vinton, Newhall, Urbana,
and Garrison/Mt Auburn. The suggested contribution is
$3.50/meal if you are 60 or older. For those under age
60, the suggested contribution is $4.25 for home delivered
meals. We also have nutritious frozen meals and liquid
supplements. Delivery is throughout Benton County.
Please call by 10:00 AM daily to cancel a Home Delivered
Meal. For more information about services, please call
319-472-4761, or to reserve a table for groups of three or
more. Please help us recruit more people to join the 4th
St Diner Meal program. All contributions are used toward
the continued operations of the meal site.
Each month the 4th St Diner has a special day set aside to
celebrate birthdays for that month. It is always
scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month. Anyone
having a birthday for that particular month is encouraged
to make a reservation for themselves and any guests they
would like to celebrate with. The names of all birthday
celebrants who have made a reservation for the Birthday
Table are entered into the door prize drawing. We
currently have two door prizes scheduled for each month.
The first is $5 in Vinton Unlimited Value Dollars
generously donated by Vinton Unlimited. The second is a
gift certificate for a free 4th Street Diner meal.
Reservations for the Birthday Dinner table can be made by
calling 472-4761. Reservations need to be made by 10:00
AM on the day of the celebration.

EATS A MEAL AT THE SITE DURING MEAL SERVICE TIMES.
The 4th Street Diner meal on Sunday, December 21st will be
Baked Chicken, Mashed Potatoes/Gravy, Corn, Mandarin
Oranges, Cake, WW Bread, Milk.
On Monday, September 22nd, 4 tables of pepper cards were
played. Leroy Weiser won 1st place with 309 points. Bill
Milne won 2nd place with 275 points. Don Selk took 3rd
place with 246 points. After the games, refreshments were
served by the card club. HACAP provided the beverages.
On Tuesday, September 23rd, Bob Hauser provided the
afternoon musical entertainment.
On Wednesday, September 24th, the afternoon activity was
10-Cent Bingo. Wendy Pennington was the volunteer caller.
The games were handpicked by Mae Wilhelmi. Game one was
the Letter “M” with Mae Wilhelmi winning. Game two was a
9-Pack with Greta Geiken as the winner. Game three was
Mutt and Jeff with George Eckhart and Marian Isbell
winning. Game four was Crazy “L” with Greta Geiken
winning. Viola Calvert won game five with Blackout.
On Thursday, September 25th, the afternoon activity was
10-Cent Bingo. Vickie Holst was the volunteer caller.
George Eckhart handpicked the games. Game one was a Goal
Post with Marion Isbell inning. Game two was a Stair Case
with George Eckhart as the winner. Game three was Wild
Number Three Bingos with Marion Isbell as the winner. Game
four was a 12-Pack with Violet Calvert and George Eckhart
winning. JoAnn Roster won game five with a Blackout.
On Friday, September 26th, the afternoon activity was a
500 Card party. There were four tables of players. Leroy
Weiser won first place with 3,150 points. Geri Shaffer won
second place with 3,090. Third place went to Margaret
Fuehrer with 2,990 points. After the games, refreshments
were served by the card club. HACAP provided the
beverages.
On Monday, September 29th, the afternoon activity included
games of Pepper. There were four tables of players. Bill
Milne won 1st place with 256 points. Irene Geiger won 2nd
place with 246 points. Leroy Weiser won 3rd place with 244
points. After the games, refreshments were served by the
card club. Esther Novotny brought treats to share for her
birthday. HACAP provided the beverages.
On Tuesday, September 30th, the afternoon activity was
10-Cent Bingo. Norma Ellis was the volunteer caller.
Esther Novotny handpicked the games. Game one was the
Letter “H” with Lorraine Fix winning. Game two was the
Letter “N” with Ruth Wieditz winning. Game three was Four
Postage Stamps with Hazel Eastwood winning. Game four was
a 9-Pack with Esther Novotny winning. Elsie Knaack and
Greta Geiken won game five with a Blackout.
On Wednesday, October 1st, the afternoon activity was
10-Cent Bingo. Wendy Pennington was the volunteer caller.
Darlene Werning handpicked the games. Game one was Four
Postage Stamps with Mae Wilhelmi winning. Game two was
Around the Free Space and Four Corners with Mae Wilhelmi
winning. Game three was a Three Layer Cake with Nancy
Weise winning. Game four was a 9-Pack with Nancy Weise
winning. Mae Wilhelmi won game five with a Blackout.
On Thursday, October 2nd, the afternoon musical
entertainment was provided by Riggle/Roster music.
On Friday, October 3rd, games of 500 cards were played.
After the games, refreshments were provided by the Card
Club. HACAP provided the beverages.
