Business : Jody Herger Elected to ILPA Board of Directors

Jody Herger, Coots Materials Co., Vinton, Iowa has been elected to serve on the Iowa Limestone Producers Association's Board of Directors, during their recent 70s Annual Convention. Jody grew up on a farm outside of Vinton and was an active participant in 4-H and FFA. At the age of 17 Jody bought a race car and raced every Sunday at the Benton County Speedway. He graduated from Washington High School in Vinton in 1995. Following graduation Jody enrolled at Hawkeye Community College and completed the Agriculture Diesel Technician program in 1997. At that time he worked for Lanehaven Farms in Waterloo, Iowa. Jody met his wife, Tyneal, in 1997 and the couple married in May of 1998. In 1999 Jody joined Tyneal's family business Coots Materials Company as a shop mechanic. From there he moved to the production side of the business and eventually the crushing plant foreman for ten years. Since the expansion of the business into Illinois and a second production plant in place, Jody is now the General Manager overseeing both crushing plants. Jody and Tyneal are in the process of being the third generation owners of Coots Materials Company. In his leisure time Jody enjoys hunting, fishing and spending time with their two children, Davia and Paul. He is also a member of Blessed Hope Church in Vinton.
