Serving Buffet from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM, Sunday thru Friday. Everyone is WELCOME! Suggested contribution for individuals 60 years old or older, and their accompanying spouse (regardless of age) is $3.25 for the meal. Individuals who are not yet 60 are WELCOME but need to pay $4.25 directly to the site manager for their meal. If you are just coming for the activity, the suggested contribution is $1.00. Carryout meals are available.

Hot Home Delivered Meals are available Sunday thru Friday in Vinton. The suggested contribution is $3.75/meal if you are 60 or older. For those under age 60, the suggested contribution is $4.50/meal. Please call by 10:00 AM daily to cancel or add a Home Delivered Meal. For more information about services, please call 319-472-4761, or to reserve a table for groups of three or more. We also have nutritious frozen meals and liquid supplements; delivery is available throughout Benton County.

All contributions are used toward the continued operations of the meal site.

Each month the 4th St Diner has a birthday celebration on the second Tuesday. Anyone having a birthday for that particular month is encouraged to make a reservation for themselves and any guests they would like to celebrate with. The names of all birthday celebrants who have made a reservation for the Birthday Table are entered into a drawing for a free 4th Street Diner meal. Reservations for the Birthday Dinner table can be made by calling 472-4761 and need to be made before 10:00 AM on the day of celebration.

On Tuesday, January 6th, Barb Riggle entertained us with a variety of piano music.

Wednesday, January 7th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo with Linda Lough as the caller; she chose the games. Game one was “Goal Post” with Diane Harris winning. Game two was a “Dog Bone” which was won by Delane Kalina. Game 3 was “Frame the Free”, which was won by JoAnn Roster. Ruth Wieditz won game 4; they played the “Letter X”. “Blackout”, the final game of the day was won by Esther Novotny.

Thursday, January 8th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo with Delane Kalina as the caller; Ruth Wieditz chose the games. Game one was “Frame the Card” with Diane Harris & Jack Oliphant winning. Game two was a “Stair Steps” which was won by Diane Harris. Game 3 was “Wild # with 3 Bingos”, which was won by Esther Novotny. Jack Oliphant, Elsie Knaack & Viola Calvert won game 4; we played the “Flag”. “Blackout”, the final game of the day was won by Viola Calvert, Elsie Knaack & Norma Ellis.

Friday, January 9th, the afternoon activity was a 500 Card party. Leroy Wieser (289), Don Selken (285), and Merle Roths (264) were the winners of the day. After the games, refreshments were served by the card club. HACAP provided the beverages.

Monday, January 12th, the afternoon activity was a Pepper Card Party. After the games, refreshments were served by the card club. HACAP provided the beverages.

The January Birthday Party was held on Tuesday, January 13th, we were musically entertained by Stuart Gulick. We had 5 birthday celebrants in attendance: Elsie Knaack, Janis Ferguson, Dean McNeal, Merle Roths, and Stanley Hepker. Stanley was the lucky winner of the free meal gift certificate.

Wednesday, January 14th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo with Wendy Pennington as the caller; Elsie Knaack chose the games. Game one was “Frame the Card” with George Eckhart winning. Game two was the “4 Postage Stamps” which was won by Ruth Wieditz. Game 3 was “Goal Post”, which was won by Leroy Wieser. Elsie Knaack won game 4; they played the “Letter Frame the Free”. “Blackout”, the final game of the day was won by Norma Ellis & George Eckhart.

Thursday, January 15th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo with Vickie Holst as the caller; Lorraine Fix chose the games. Game one was “4 Postage Stamps” with Marion Isbell winning. Game two was a “12 Pack” which was won by Lorraine Fix. Game 3 was the “Letter X”, which was won by JoAnn Roster. Marion Isbell won game 4 which was “Wild # with 3 Bingos”. Blackout”, the final game of the day was won by JoAnn Roster & Norma Ellis.

Friday, January 16th, the afternoon activity was a 500 Card party. Marlys Finzen (4010), Don Selken (3350), and Joanne Jones (2840) were the winners of the day. After the games, refreshments were served by the card club. HACAP provided the beverages.

Monday, January 19th, the site was closed in observation of Martin Luther King Day.

Tuesday, January 20th, the afternoon activity was Surprise Bingo with Keith Wiese as the caller. Esther Novotny handpicked the games. Game one was “Wild # with 3 Bingos” with Hazel Eastwood winning Massage Cream. Game two was a “9 Pack” with JoAnn Roster winning a Bear and Body Powder. Game 3 was “Stair Steps” which Nancy Weise winning the Free Meal Ticket. Game 4-“The Letter M” was won by Esther Novotny whose prize was a Cup/Hot Chocolate Mix and game 5-“Blackout” was won by Viola Calvert who won a Paper Pad.

Game one was the “2 Hard Way Bingos” with Carol Daubs winning. Game two was a “Wild # with 3 Bingos” which was won by Viola Calvert. Game 3 was “4 Postage Stamps”, which was won by Elsie Knaack & Geri Shaffer. Ruth Wieditz & Jack Oliphant won game 4 which was the “1 Postage Stamp & 1 Hard Way Bingo”. Friday, January 30th, the afternoon activity was a 500 Card Party. Lois Romman (2,950), Don Selken (2,800) and Geri Shaffer (2,760) had the top scores of the day. Don Selken brought treats for the group to celebrate his birthday. HACAP provided the beverages.
