Serving Buffet from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM, Sunday thru Friday. Everyone is WELCOME! Suggested contribution for individuals 60 years old or older, and their accompanying spouse (regardless of age) is $3.25 for the meal. Individuals who are not yet 60 are WELCOME but need to pay $4.25 directly to the site manager for their meal. If you are just coming for the activity, the suggested contribution is $1.00. Carryout meals are available.

Hot Home Delivered Meals are available Sunday thru Friday in Vinton. The suggested contribution is $3.75/meal if you are 60 or older. For those under age 60, the required contribution is $4.50/meal. Please call by 10:00 AM daily to cancel or add a Home Delivered Meal.

For more information about services, please call 319-472-4761, or to reserve a table for groups of three or more. We also have nutritious frozen meals and liquid supplements; delivery is available throughout Benton County.

All contributions are used toward the continued operations of the meal site.

Each month the 4th St Diner has a birthday celebration on the second Tuesday. Anyone having a birthday for that particular month is encouraged to make a reservation for themselves and any guests they would like to celebrate with. The names of all birthday celebrants who have made a reservation for the Birthday Table are entered into a drawing for a free 4th Street Diner meal. Reservations for the Birthday Dinner table can be made by calling 472-4761 and needs to be made before 10:00 AM on the day of celebration.

Friday, October 2nd, the afternoon activity was a 500 Card party; there were 2 tables of players. Geri Shaffer (3790), Esther Novotny (3470) and Merle Roths (3260) were the winners of the day. After the games, refreshments were served by the card club. HACAP provided the beverages.

Monday, October 5th, the afternoon activity was a Pepper Card Party. There were three tables of players. Geri Shaffer (263), Don Selken (247), and Merle Roths (226) were the winners of the day. After the games, refreshments were served by the card club. HACAP provided the beverages.

Tuesday, October 6th, the afternoon activity was Surprise Bingo with Maureen Haisman as the caller. Jack Oliphant handpicked the games. Game 1 was “Wild # with 3 Bingos” with Diane Harris winning. Game 2 was “Stairsteps” with Norma Ellis winning. Game 3 was a “9 Pack” at which Viola Calvert won. Game 4-“4 Postage Stamps” which was won by Leroy Wieser whose prize was the Free Meal Ticket and game 5-“Blackout” was won by Inez Maile.

Wednesday, October 7th, the afternoon activity was the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo with Joel Hanover as the caller. Game 1 was “Layer Cake” with Viola Calvert winning. Game 2 was a “Cake Frosting” which was won by Mae Wilhelmi. Game 3 was the “Stairsteps”, which was won by Mae Wilhelmi. Lorraine Fix won game 4 which was “Wild Number with 3 Bingos”. Blackout”, the final game of the day was won by Mae Wilhelmi.

Friday, October 9th, the afternoon activity was a 500 Card party; there were 4 tables of players. Hazel Eastwood (3300), Don Selken (3130) and Bill Milne (2620) were the winners of the day. After the games, refreshments were served by the card club. HACAP provided the beverages.

Monday, October 12th, the afternoon activity was a Pepper Card Party. There were three tables of players. Hazel Eastwood (241), Bill Milne (221) and Merle Roths (218) were the winners of the day. Refreshments were served by the card club; HACAP provided the beverages.

The October Birthday Party was held on Tuesday, October 13th. We were musically entertained by Barb Riggle and Larry Roster. Mildred Noble celebrated her birthday with us.

Wednesday, October 14th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo with George Eckhart as the volunteer caller. Hazel Eastwood handpicked the games. Game 1 was “Wild # with 3 Bingos” with Marion Isbell winning. Game 2 was “Four Postage Stamps” with Oma Eckhart and Marcia Relf winning. Game 3 was “Letter X” which Marion Isbell won. Game 4-“9 Pack” was won by Marion Isbell. Game 5-“Blackout” was won by JoAnn Roster.

Thursday, October 15th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo with Leroy Wieser as the caller; Delane Kalina chose the games. Game 1 was “Letter Z” with Esther Novotny winning. Game 2 was a “9 Pack” which was won by Lorraine Fix. Game 3 was the “Wild # with 3 Bingos”, which was won by Marcia Relf. Esther Novotny won game 4 which was “Layer Cake”. Blackout”, the final game of the day was won by Marion Isbell.

Friday, October 16th, the afternoon activity was a 500 Card party; there were three tables of players. Joanne Jones (4580), Leroy Wieser (3630), and Darlene Peters (2200) were the winners of the day. After the games, refreshments were served by the card club. HACAP provided the beverages.

Monday, October 19th, the afternoon activity was a Pepper Card Party. There were 3 tables of players. Merle Roths (219) and Hazel Eastwood (213) were the winners of the day. After the games, refreshments were served by the card club. HACAP provided the beverages.

Tuesday, October 20th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo with Maureen Haisman as the caller; George Eckhart handpicked the games. Game 1 was “4 Postage Stamps” with Bea Payton winning. Game 2 was “Letter X” with JoAnn Roster winning. Game 3 was “Stairsteps” which Oma Eckhart won. Game 4-“Wild # with 2 Bingos” was won by Hazel Eastwood. Game 2 was “9 Pack” with George Eckhart winning. Game 3 was “Wild # with 3 Bingos” which Jack Oliphant won. Game 4-“Letter T” was won by Leroy Wieser. Game 5-“Blackout” was won by Mae Wilhelmi and Geri Shaffer.

Monday, October 26th, the afternoon activity was a Pepper Card Party. There were 3 tables of players. Lois Rommann (243) and Hazel Eastwood (214) were the winners of the day. After the games, refreshments were served by the card club. HACAP provided the beverages.

Game 2 was “Frame the Free and Four Corners” with Leroy Wieser winning. Game 3 was “Wild # with 3 Bingos” which Mae Wilhelmi won. Game 4-“Checkmark” was won by Bea Payton. Game 5-“Blackout” was won by JoAnn Roster.

Thursday, October 29th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo with Joel Hanover as the caller; Loraine Fix handpicked the games. Game 1 was “Flag” with Bea Payton winning. Game 2 was “Stairsteps” with Geri Shaffer winning. Game 3 was “Goal Post & Football” which Ruth Wieditz won. Game 4-“Layer Cake” was won by Barb Cassens. Game 5-“Blackout” was won by Norma Ellis.

Friday, October 30st, the afternoon activity was a 500 Card Party. There were 4 tables of players. Leroy Wieser (3560), Bill Milne (3800), and Bea Payton (3800) were the winners of the day. After the games, refreshments were served by the card club. HACAP provided the beverages.

November’s Fresh Conversations is scheduled for the 18th. The topic will be “Feed and Love Your Bacteria” and the taste sample will be Winter Black Bean Soup. Reserve your taste sample by 1:00 pm on Tuesday the 17th.

We are now accepting reservations for our annual Thanksgiving Dinner on November 19th. Please call Linda at 319-472-4761 before 5:00 pm Wednesday November 18th. Individuals wishing to dine after 12:00 noon do not need a reservation.
